Born in 1947 in Saint Cyr l'Ecole, France (about 3.1 miles - from Versailles, behind the Chateau) at his parents' home, a Périgault house (reconstruction barracks, the town of Saint-Cyr having been 90% destroyed by successive Allied bombings from March to August 1944). From 1802 to the end of the Second World War, Saint-Cyr l'École was known as the home of the famous French military school equivalent to the US West - Point (in 2002, the bicentenary of the school was the occasion of its twinning with West Point). Father, then a technical officer at the Institut Aérotechnique in Saint-Cyr and a housewife. Has a brother (doctor) born in 1948 and a sister born in 1958. Father of twin girls born in 1979. |
